Academic ERP Implementation
While it sounds like the stuff of urban legends, it’s sadly true that some ERP implementations can take years — two, five, 10, even 15. But it doesn’t have to be that way. A defining advantage of
CAMS® Enterprise
is its rapid and hassle-free implementation. Unlike other systems that take years to implement, CAMS Enterprise's fully integrated and 100-percent Microsoft solution is up and running in a matter of months.
Implementation covers the process of installing and setting-up CAMS Enterprise, converting and importing the institution’s data, and training the school’s staff for a successful launch. The process includes the following milestones:
- Project start-up
- Project planning
- Technical consulting
- System consulting
- Training
- Data migration
- System set-up
- Process verification
- System go-live
Upon the purchase of a CAMS product, a Three Rivers Systems Project Manager is assigned to your account to coordinate all support resources and be your primary point of contact throughout implementation.
Your project manager will help analyze the specific needs of your institution and together with your team will determine how CAMS can best meet your business requirements. We offer recommendations based on this assessment, as well as the best practices gleaned from years of experience and the successful implementation of CAMS in all types of higher education institutions.
Following the project planning process, a Three Rivers engineer will remotely install the software and verify the functionality of the system. Your project manager will work with you to plan the installation and coordinate any necessary troubleshooting of the installation and setup process for a clean installation of CAMS Enterprise.
Once CAMS Enterprise is installed, onsite training is scheduled. Because the system has been developed with a consistent and intuitive user interface, CAMS Enterprise is exceptionally easy to learn and use. Three Rivers will provide you with step-by-step tutorials and a training database so your users can begin to explore the system and practice their normal tasks. With the included training database you and your staff have the opportunity to practice and gain hands-on experience before, during, and after your training sessions, making the on-site training more effective and efficient.
As a part of the implementation process, Three Rivers Systems provides data migration services to our clients through our experienced team of software engineers. Over the years, our data migration experts have perfected a conversion process that minimizes downtime while ensuring highly accurate data.
Throughout the data migration process users from your institution have the opportunity to verify the data in preparation of the final cutover to CAMS Enterprise. Shortly before the go-live date, Three Rivers Systems’ engineers will complete their modifications to the migration process based on the data verification comments from an institution’s users. Once the migration process is finalized, the data is converted, loaded and verified in preparation for cutover to the new system.
As part of our project plan we work very closely with your implementation team to cover all the details in preparation for the cutover to ensure your success. Leading up to the go-live date we will have worked with your staff on installation, user training, system setup, system performance validation, data migration, process re-engineering, data validation, and more. With all the preparation that goes into the implementation, the actual go-live event is a smooth process of limiting access to your old system and bringing your new CAMS Enterprise system up.
