As a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, Three Rivers Systems, Inc. works with Microsoft to deliver academic ERP solutions for higher education that leverage their widely adopted, standard technologies. By partnering with Three Rivers Systems you ensure that your Academic ERP is always compatible with the latest technology from Microsoft. CAMS Enterprise is compatible with:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008
  • Microsoft Windows 7

With Microsoft technology being used across the globe, there are three categories of products in the marketplace: products that are based on pure Microsoft technology; products that are based on non-Microsoft technology; and products that use mixed technology -- products that claim to be based on Microsoft technology, but in reality, are not.

Pure Microsoft
CAMS Enterprise™ is based on pure Microsoft technology. Microsoft has taken the lead in delivering the most integrated Web development tools in the market. These standard tools, and integrated development environment, assure quick product development and the ability to deliver elegant solutions rather than piecemeal components.  Everyone is familiar with Microsoft products and CAMS Enterprise™ follows the design and development standards consistent with those familiar products. The interoperability CAMS Enterprise™ offers with the Office suite of products, the seamless integration with the back-office server products, and the availability of the data in XML and other formats are revolutionary.

Non-Microsoft
Most of the products that are not based on Microsoft technology have typically originated from days of mainframe computing, and have had their life extended with bolted-on front ends. These products are cumbersome because the functions are inconsistent, having undergone a band-aided approach over the years. The systems are hard to use because, as we all agree, technology has come a long way in the last 20 years. By their nature, these systems create a very risky situation for institutions because they require a large staff of specially trained, hard-to-find individuals who act as the glue to keep the system functioning. It is only a matter of time before these kind of systems will be phased out and replaced with modern customer-centric services.

Mixed Microsoft
There is also a class of systems that are based on the client/server architecture, and were founded on technology that is now outdated. While they may use elements of Microsoft technology, they also pull pieces from a variety of unrelated technologies, resulting in unstable systems that are challenging to maintain and use, and do not scale well.

As a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, Three Rivers Systems, Inc. gives customers a strategic position within the IT community. Compatibility with Microsoft and other open standards eliminates incompatibility concerns, release delays, and unexplainable problems. The Microsoft partnership guarantees access to early releases on all development tools and Microsoft Office products, which in turn enables Three Rivers Systems, Inc. to release updates and new products in a timely manner.
